The Misfits have been my favorite band ever since 7th grade. I still know all their lyrics and how to play a good amount of their songs on guitar/ bass.

Oof, this is a tough one.
Off the top of my head, I'm going with Poison Idea. I don't even listen to most of their stuff, but Feel The Darkness is so mind blowingly perfect, I'd choose them based solely on that record.
Realistically the answer is Black Flag though.

I see the Misfits in the same light as the Sex Pistols. They're a good gateway band but I eventually tired of them. Another thing they have in common: the singers of both bands are insufferable douchebags.

the misfits are simple but fun. the sex pistols aren't even music. i disagree. i think nevermind the bollocks is extremely catchy. i'd probably go with the clash. they were the most talented and influential punk band of all time. so many good records and singles, too.
