I like everything Tear It Up did, except maybe like 3-4 songs. I love the good Dead Nation stuff, but they've got some terrible too. Tear It Up was also one of the first hardcore bands that I would go out of my way to see as much as possible, I still may get a TIU tattoo at some point.
So basically, Tear It Up.

those first 2 7"s definitely have their charm though, although the jump between the and dead end is obviously worlds apart

Dead nation was weird. I knew Matt really well & punk rock Dave alright. Frank was cool and had been in uprise and their drummer Randy seemed like a solid guy. I knew they were going to be doing this more "punk" type of band. Heavy on the flag SSD worship. Their 1st show was in new bruns at tech ecstacy studio with TRIAL, CATHARSIS, ENSIGN, AUTOMATON & NO CONTEST(my old band). They covered chunks & how much art. No one really gave them much creedence. I loved them. We played together a bunch. Matt & Dave put out the no contest 7". I loved that era of nj hardcore punk. I never really liked TIU. Songs where just blah to me. So yeah my vote goes to the NATION...dead nation

Dead Nation. Absolutely. "Dead End" and "Painless" are better than anything TIU did. First couple records weren't very good, but the last two made up for them. Plus, lyrically, it seemed like TIU kinda ran out of ideas at times. "Thrash Wagon"? C'mon...

Controversial opinion (maybe not here?): The Jersey Shore was the best regional scene in the dark ages of 90s punk.

Everyone needs to grab this. I feel like this band comes up between Geoff and I every couple times we hang out. The unreleased stuff and this demo were too good to be going unnoticed.

Nothing to Nothing is awesome, but the first TIU 7 inch is one of my favorite records ever.

tear it up by far in my opinion. what is this "a thin line fading" thing everyone is jib-jabbering about?
