This band is so good, that full length is amazing...I don't like the connie dungs as much as I like this band....blue grey smoke, best song... very catchy somewhat poppy/emo punk with awesome vocals, if you haven't heard em get into it...bummed I found out about them after they broke up...have they gone on to do any other bands? Can someone recommend bands to me that sound like them? Jay insult I'm looking in your direction

i know we've talked about this, but i have the opposite of this opinion where i dont really like ARWG but i love the connie dungs. gemini. their records rule. i would name other bands that sound like them but i'm drawing a complete blank, jay insult is definitely the dude for this.

Everything these guys did rules. Full length, acoustic album, and everything by Connie Dungs. A few years ago they talked about a new album and even put a song or two up online but I don't think anything ever came of it?

ARWG are great but the Dungs will always be better. Pat the "acoustic" album isn't actually acoustic, it's just like an un-distorted guitar and no drums. Some songs are Dungs songs, some are ARWG, some are new ones. And a cover of Kiss The Bottle. Get the Tussey solo record www.myspace.com/brandontusseymusicFreshman year of college I remember Gajewski getting so fucking pissed when he lost his ARWG pin off his jacket while we were walking Memorial Drive in the pouring rain on the way to see an FTD, Mental, Slumlords, NRSV gig where Perlin told us his favorite shoes were "french bread shoes". Good memory.

For bands that sound like them I'd say maybe the Beatnik Termites. They're more Ramones-y but they have those real snotty scratchy vocals.
or maybe The Broadways or The Lawrence Arms? Kelley kinda sounds like Tussey with the scratchiness of his vocals (although he's my least favorite of the singers in both of those bands).
lyrical content wise I would say maybe Off With Their Heads.
all those bands are closer to the Dungs style than ARWG's though.

I just realized the copy on this computer is missing the second half of the last song Ten Shot Farewell (one of the best parts of the record) but I'm sure you guys can hunt that one track down on waffles or what.cd Now that I think about it, the Kiss The Bottle cover is awesome but still might be the worst song on the record, though it is my favorite cover of that song. Bonus points have always gone to the song Shit for quoting the same line out of Spindle by Plow United that Tear It Up quoted. A Radio With Guts- Acoustic Series www.mediafire.com/?7pkp678588a0y76

Wish I hadn't had my computer wiped because I had/have on my ipod the whole "Ten Shot Farewell." Which, the end, is definitely one of the best parts of the record.

Oh, and the songs from the supposed second full length were Head and Open Heart Surgery. I had them on my old comp but lost them when that thing died, if anyone has them they should post them. Also, I remember Head sounding kinda like a Smashing Pumpkins song, which was awesome.
