So I don't know how many of you know this by now, but I have recently become a pretty big soccer fan. I went to my first game about 2 years ago, but I didn't really get super into it until last year. My friend Liam and I have joined a supporters' group called the Garden State Ultras(formerly Garden State Supporters) and I go to almost every Red Bulls home match with a lot of cool dudes who you guys probably know/used to know.
Red Bulls have clinched a spot in the playoffs for the MLS Cup. Bradley Wright-Phillips is three goals shy of beating the season record for most goals scored. We have a match Sunday against Columbus Crew. We may be on the home stretch of Thierry Henry's final season with New York. Next season will be the first for NYCFC(fuck 'em), so that means the New York ultras will get to get into some cool shit at Yankee Stadium(lol) for at least 3 matches next season.
All in all, it's a pretty exciting time to be a soccer fan in New York/New Jersey right now. Anyone else follow MLS? EPL? UEFA Champions League?

Just now getting into soccer. Have yet to pick a team. Actually kind of into Bayern FC... Get the feeling the Redbulls might get put out of business when New York FC opens up shop.

Bayern München is an awesome club, but probably the only good club currently in Bundesliga. Love German football though, 2nd Bundesliga has my favorite club of all time, FC St. Pauli, and is a little more interesting to watch because there aren't so many disparities in the talent of each of the clubs. Speaking of which, they are talking about introducing relegation to NASL and USL Pro in MLS, which would make the sport a LOT more interesting in America imo.

on the other hand Liverpool won a game... and BFC is still top of the table even with some "ok" performances. Stupid loss to MC.

And today is a somber day for US footie. With the loss of our chance at the MLS Cup, Henry officially announces his retirement from RBNY, Tim Cahill is probably going to follow soon after. And fuck Manchester City.
