Gen. Tso's/Sesame Tofu Fried Rice, always add Chinese mustard and soy sauce. Shrimp Toast Ma Po Tofu
There aren't any really good Indian-Chinese places in Jersey, but there's this place called Tangra Masala in Queens(Tangra is the Chinese neighborhood in Calcutta), best fucking restaurant food I've ever had, no exaggeration.
Go tos: Tofu/paneer 65(like General Tso's, but instead of a sweet sauce, it's a spicy Indian sauce. Still with breadcrumbs and shit though) hakka noodles veg chop suey
Wash it down with a Thums Up. My mouth is fucking watering.

General tsos or sesame tofu Scallion pancakes are the way to my heart. And it kills me that Sultan Wok, who has the best tsos/sesame tofu in my area doesn't carry scallion pancakes. Granted, if they did I would live off that and OD on msg.
Also, not Chinese, but in the same vein, Magic Grill in Garwood....how fucking good?

The Chili Paneer is maybe the best thing I've ever eaten, but is suuuper spicy

General Tso's tofu was my go-to in CT. Since getting back, I've suffered from a dearth of local quality Chinese. There's a place around the corner from my house that I ordered G-Tso's tofu from and it was so fucking foul I didn't even finish it. Loving Hut is the shit but I only get their Chinese stuff when I go there for the buffet. Good orange chikn.

When in Chinatown: ALL the bao. Wor shu opp. Roast duck. Chinese five spice braised brisket with daikon radish. Chilled pig's ears in chili oil. Chilled beef knuckle in chili oil sauce. Chinese broccoli.
Chinese delivery/take out: General Tso's is a go to if you order from a place for the first time, and is usually my go to. You can't do General Tso's, I don't care what you can do. When available, I'm all about young chow (yangzhou) fried rice. Sizzling Rice soup (I've only ever seen/had this at one restaurant, New China Inn in Rutherford, it's a big bowl of HOT broth with greens, pork, chicken and shrimp in it, and when they put it on the table they also have these big crispy fried rice cakes, and they dump those in the bowl and it sizzles loud as fuck).
And if you want some GREAT Chinese food, the previously mentioned New China Inn. My mom started going there when she was a little kid, and the young girl doing homework in one of the booths back then is the same old woman running the show now. Menu has not changed one bit, and it's the standard to which I hold ALL Chinese food. People always seem like they want me to shut up when I talk about the place, until they eat there and then they won't shut up and stop thanking me for opening their eyes.

I always used to have them clean the grill because vegan and all that noise. I am that asshole. But I've also been in there alone, save for the people I was with, each time I've gone.
