yeah it was jaci. she's not setting it up, madden we've talked a few times doubt you know my name. i try and come to all the flesh temple shows. im letting unfun sunday happen in the basement in november... ive let hchc use the basement twice since i moved in. i support what you guys do and dont give a flying fuck about what you think of the shows i throw. im not new to this, i've thrown about twenty shows in the past three months and would love to continue doing so, which includes you guys if youre ever in need of a venue. so again, i fucking hate cops and dont want to have to deal with them. thanks

most of you complain that no one gives money at the shows you throw. isnt it nice to get a fat check for doing what you love?

hey this is at my house, dont call the cops. who cares if this is happening, someone gave red bull my contact info... drucker your name was referenced. i just lost my job the money is sick.. but really this show doesnt hurt anybody... i know who most of you are, you've been to/played at my house before, this is fucking stupid. i dont call the cops on your shows. most of you complain that no one gives money at the shows you throw. isnt it nice to get a fat check for doing what you love? and yeah i guess i am a noise dork, again who cares. you guys are hardcore dorks. we're all music nerds. whatever man. get paid get laid. if you come to this show ill let you in but dont fuck with what i have going on because i dont want to start shit with anyone. I was hoping to get some local bands on there who would just make a huge mockery of the whole situation and/or crush the competition and spit in Thursday's face when given the chance. You may not be "harming" anyone but I'm sure you can understand why it's insulting and why no one wants it. I'm gonna be in Tampa and don't plan on calling the cops, but wouldn't Red Bull be paying for the noise complaint anyway? If not, you should seriously reconsider your agreement with them. You made a deal with a company that doesn't give a fuck about 1) DIY music 2) music in general and 3) YOU. All they want is to hang their banners and make people think Thursday drinks their horrible poison beverage so they can sell more overpriced bullshit. They care about selling drinks. Period. I sincerely hope that this helps you continue doing whatever kind of shows you plan on doing in the future but don't be surprised if this brings the wrong kind of attention to your home. This is not a threat at all because like I said, I'm going to be in Tampa and I haven't told anyone to do anything other then "try to get on this show and start a fake band" or "get on this and don't show up". However, this has trouble written all over it and if I were you I'd think twice about it. In the future please try to keep this type of bullshit out of a scene that has enough trouble already. Red Bull could had rented out a frat house for this and should have. You had to have known that no one wanted this and if you didn't then what the fuck? By the way my name is C.J. I play drums in Big Eyes and I have nothing at all to hide from you or anyone else. You can PM me if you'd like to chat via e-mail or phone.

if it didnt happen at my house, it would have happened somewhere else. im lying if i say i dont appreciate the money, i have bills and drug addictions and music gear i wanna buy and all that shit. amps for christ played at my house recently and i only collected $60 for him... he was in fucking man is the bastard and came all the way from california to play a basement show. i wish i could have given him $500. honestly i have a lot of feelings about this show but this is a public forum and the internet freaks me out, i just wanted to chime in since i guess im involved but i've thrown some fucking loud shows that went well past 10pm and i've never had a problem with the police and i really dont want to start having them now.

well this is probably the wrong way to go about not having the police involved. This. Amps for Christ played New Brunswick and NOBODY TOLD ME?! WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK. I get the feeling not many people were told because this is the first I heard of it and I most certainly would've been there. As well as more than $60 worth of people.

Don't be afraid to shake people down and prepare a speech about why not giving money for shows is fucked up. Otherwise people are gonna walk all over you.

i know the score... i'm not shy about asking for cash. i kicked a few people out of that show because it was frustratingly difficult for some reason. plus most of the shows i book are for out of town freaks playing weird music and even less ppl are gonna bother showin up if they think i'm gonna bar entrance if they dont have money. i do the best i can, most of these bands are just happy to get a twenty and play to an audience thats not just the other acts jamming the show and their few weird friends

well this is probably the wrong way to go about not having the police involved. Seriously. Having a huge show sponsored by a huge corporation that will most likely be posted somewhere on the internet is going to throw up a red flag or two. I really doubt this shit even happens but if it does I can almost guarantee that the cops come and shut it down.

DHOOP, There are people on this board who have demonstrated that they may be interested in shows you're throwing and, through that, would contribute to you being able to get the bands you love more money, and your reaction has been to totally hide your identity to ensure none of us are able to get to your shows.
Also, I don't see the link between wishing you got touring bands more money at your shows and needing $500 to fuel your own gear/drug addiction...

And really I've never had problems with having people pay at any shows I've thrown. Sure we had a few people show up with no/little money but we always got touring bands a decent chunk of money at the shows at my old place. Just try harder? Or ask how much money they have and take that?

well this is probably the wrong way to go about not having the police involved. How would they find out? He didn't post his address on here or anything, did he? If you really think Red Bull is throwing a secret show in a basement then I'm pretty sure you have no idea how a business works. Even if for some reason Red Bull doesn't publish the address somewhere, does anyone really think the shitty bands that play this in hopes of playing Starland Ballroom aren't going to post the address everywhere? I don't think you'll be seeing fliers with "ask a Red Bull representative" anywhere. I also find it hard to believe that Red Bull in association with Starland Ballroom is doing an illegal show and have had no contact with the cops/town/state. I'm going to guess that anyone who would shut this down already knows about the show/address/date and is letting it happen. These are two bigger businesses...I highly doubt doing something illegal and dealing with the cops would be regarded as "good business practice."

i'm also finding it hard to believe that nobody is thinking that red bull is going to get some kind of permit or something from the city to do this

How would you get a permit? The reason why basement shows are illegal is capacity limits and fire hazards. You can't get a permit to get around a fire hazard or to somehow let 200 people in a house. It's just not going to happen unless Red Bull gives New Brunswick a hefty donation/bribe which I suppose could happen.
Buccleuch Park is now Givesuwings Park.
